STRONG & COURAGEOUS
Father Chris Alar, MIC
("Father Joseph, MIC")
“Urgency in the Church and a Special Mission”
Father Chris Alar comes from a long line of military family and was groomed to be a fighter pilot. He received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy but, a medical discharge ultimately left him angry and thinking life was over.
He went on to receive a BS in industrial engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan. After working several years at a Fortune 500 company, he began his own consulting company in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2000. When learning how to lead people and manage business operations and finances, it would later become clear that God was laying out a plan that was never on his horizons.
After answering the Lord's call, he attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, for his philosophy studies and earned his Masters of Divinity from Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Father Chris entered the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the religious community entrusted with spreading the message and devotion of Divine Mercy, as a postulant in July, 2006.
Following Father Michael Gaitley and others before him, Father Chris is now the Director of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception where he serves as "Fr. Joseph, MIC," the Director of the Associa tion of Marian Helpers. This responsibility includes spreading the message of Divine Mercy and managing the entire operation of the Nat’l Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
He now speaks around the world.
